Stay-cation

Stay-cation is a popular term for those of us who can’t afford vacations or just don’t want to take them. Scotty and I were VERY lucky enough to take a cruise this Spring Break. We are also very lucky to have time to recoup (7 blocks from the beach!) before it’s back to work. *Scotty went back to work on Friday* Today we had one of the best days whether-wise in Oceanside. We are finally approaching Spring weather. We both got up early and Scotty went surfing while I worked out in our state-of-the-art gym in our extra bedroom. We both also worked on school work and had a great lunch at home before heading out on the town. We grabbed our bikes, pumped up the tires, and headed out. What is one thing we didn’t do? Put on sunscreen! We rode our bikes down on the boardwalk and then headed for margaritas at the new restaurant in town. The bike ride was awesome (see pic above). In Oceanside any sign of sun results in a jam-packed beach! We don’t care though because that just means we have lots to look at. We went to the Sunset Market and checked out some cool artwork and then went to people watch. The new restaurant we had margaritas at is a rather large place. We were able to sit on the top and enjoy the sun. The weather was perfect but Scotty and I are gringos who have not really been in the sun this season. Remember the cruise had cold weather on one of the days. We both have super rad farmer’s tans but are appreciative of the daily festivities we can enjoy from our home. We are currently at home with sleeping pugs and our laptops on our lap!
