This weekend we have experienced some of the best weather that we get here on the coast. For some reason on the weekends the sun comes out a little earlier and the clouds roll in a little later. This weekend was no exception. On Saturday me and the boys (Scotty and Nick) were in the boat and pulling out of the Harbor at 8:30 am. Today we were going to ride bikes to the beach, but after an early morning surf the boys said it might not be the best choice because the beach was having some gloom. We decided to do a pool day. We use to do these often but since the complex has built what feels like 500 units, we don’t have many opportunities to enjoy the pool without screaming kids and Baby Ruth candy bars floating in the shallow end. Today was no exception! We were committed to making today a pool day so we went for it. We got to the pool at 11:30 am and the boys enjoyed a friendly game of catch in the pool. About an hour later the community center opened its doors- which apparently a birthday party was taking place inside. The boys were asked several times if other kids could join their game of catch. After being splashed by several personal attack cannon balls we went home for a little lunch. Apparently the kids took this time too to get some lunch because when we returned an hour later the pool was empty… empty until the exact moment the boys jumped in and started playing catch again! We finished the day at the pool enjoying the weather and remembering the days when it was just us at the pool with our dogs that were allowed to run free. Even though today was a bit of a cluster at the pool, I think we can still be thankful that we have a beautiful home just 7 blocks from the beach… the beach that many families pay good money to come and vacation at.
Moral of the Blog- Be thankful to live at a vacation destination!
Cheers!
