Kayden has never been one to watch the TV, even though it seems like it’s on all day. She’d rather be playing with her dolls, running around, or helping mom rearrange the cabinets. One night after dinner Scotty was on his iPad and Kayden was really interested in what he was doing- geek blogs probably! Anyway, he stopped what he was doing and sat her on his lap to watch some Elmo YouTube videos. To my surprise, she was totally engaged! I really don’t want to make TV watching a habit for her, but I’ll take a few minutes in front of the iPad to get some light cleaning done! She can usually only get through one or two 2-minute clips, but it’s cute to see her ‘bop to the beat’ and participate by pointing to the different body parts they are singing about! She is currently obsessed with Snuffy!

Now any time the TV goes on or I take out my iPad, all I hear is “ELMO! ELMO! ELMO!”

I hope that she always prefers playing to watching TV. And I hope she always dances when a good song comes on… whether it’s on the radio or on the TV!
