It must be a phase, but Kayden is obsessed with closing doors, drawers, cabinets, trashcans, and basically anything that can be closed. She’s always closing the trashcan while I’m in the middle of doing dishes and cleaning up the kitchen. She closes the washer door after I pull out the first shirt to put in the dryer. And of course, she closes EVERY room door! She follows me around the house saying ‘Close it! Close it!” I know she means well because I’m pretty sure she’s trying to help me. If I’m in the laundry room she’s closing the door behind me. If I’m in the bedroom she’s closing the closet door and the room door. No matter where I am, my little one is closing me in! Don’t get me wrong, she is really enjoying closing things, but she isn’t shy to opening up the kitchen cabinets and unfolding all of my themed dishtowels and unloading the pots and pans! I love that she is exploring and finding new ways to get into mischief. I also love that at this age she’s pretty good about putting things away after she makes a mess! We sing the the ‘Clean up, clean up, everybody, everywhere’ song and she gets right to work!
And by the way, everything she does these days seem to be in the buff! She just figured out how to take her diaper off. Oh the joy that’s to come from this new revelation!
