Last week Kayden’s teacher, Ms. Ashley, gave us all a project of building a bridge. The theme for the school year is traveling around the world. Each week they go to a new place. We are starting out local and hitting up big cities in the US. Eventually they’ll be traveling to new countries! So this week the kiddos are traveling to San Fransisco. The teacher thought it would be a great project for the kid’s to construct a bridge with their families- no directions other than the kiddos had to help. At first I was thinking, ‘wait, ONE week to build a bridge?!’ Luckily, I have a husband who loves to build things and assured me that we could get it done. Unfortunately, I know nothing about building anything, so sending me to a craft store to get supplies ended up perhaps differently than Scotty was expecting. He said to get color, so I got color!! Kayden loved doing this project with her daddy. I have to say, it was so sweet to watch them bond over this project. She asked questions, he taught her measuring and the importance of making a jig (I still have no idea what a jig is!), and they worked on it together. Unfortunately for both of them, I did some work on the bridge by myself and added the necessary flair!!
Here they are working together–
