So one might assume Scotty is a brewing professional with how many times he has participated in the task. Well, I am here to say that this most recent batch is killing me slowly. The process of brewing beer is long and, well, boring so I won’t explain it. Not that I could really do a very good job anyway, but that is neither hear nor there! Anyway, let me just say that at one of the steps the boys put ice in the concoction in an effort to cool the liquid quicker so they could move forward in the steps. Kris, Scotty’s partner in crime, happened to mention the next day that maybe that wasn’t such a good idea because it added liquid. The beer brewing process, I should say, is very precise. The extra liquid in my mind means that we could potentially have an over flow. In order to avoid this, I decide to drag the concoction out on the balcony that way if it does over flow it won’t flood my house! Keep in mind, I did this without permission. Come to find this morning my husband is quite upset because we have now tampered with the temperature the liquid needs to be at. We calm down and figure he could bring it in the house and pretend it never happened. Fast forward-: we are doing dishes after dinner tonight and both nearly hit the floor as we hear a loud pop. Wood floors makes everything dramatically louder!! We recover to find the entire downstairs has a layer of hopps and barley. Walls, check. Ceiling, check. Mirrors, check. Computers, check. Bathroom walls, check. Floors, double check! After several inappropriate words slung, we get to cleaning. The hopps and barely apparently turn to cement minutes after becoming air born! So about an hour later we now have a clean ceiling, walls, bathroom, floors, and mirrors. Scotty has decided to go ahead and try and salvage what is left and has put the plug back on and decided to have another go at it. We now have a trusty trash bag placed over the top, you know, in case we didn’t learn from our experience. This beer better be good!!!!!!!!

Disclaimer: The video does NOT do justice to what we had to face. Due to the fact that each piece of barley and hopps was the size of a piece of rice, the camera just couldn’t capture it all :-/
