I feel like I am so back logged with blogs that I just don’t know where to start. We have had so many changes in the past month. The first big change is that the girls now sleep together in the SAME room!! When we were in Palm Springs we were forced to put them together just due to space. We knew it was a goal to have them in the same room eventually, but we thought we should wait until Kloey dropped her first nap and they were truly on the same schedule. I have been training both girls to be on the same napping schedule since Kloey joined our family. They both take the same afternoon nap, so there really was no reason to wait. Kayden loves having Kloey in her room. I think it’s because she feels safe having her in there because that way she is not alone. My little timid rose is scared of everything so having an extra body in the room probably makes her feel a little more secure. So far the transition has been met with very few bumps. If only I could get my nearly 3 year old to get out of bed when she wakes up from her nap! She insists on calling me, which might or might not wake Kloey up. Both girls don’t do well when woken up early from their naps! Kayden is a really hard sleeper, so if Kloey wakes up first we can usually go in and get her without waking Kayden up. She also sleeps through Kloey’s random cries in the night. So far, we are SO happy they are in the same room. They now have a pretty sweet play room too! There is a deluxe kitchen, overflowing toy box, closet filled with art supplies, and an art easel. There’s lots to do!

The second major change in our lives has been the mobility of Kloey. Kloey has been shoveling around rooms for a month or so, but she never quite understood the concept of crawling. She would steam roll, push and pull herself around rooms, and could navigate in and of any room. In the past week, she has discovered crawling and walking while holding hands. Now this girl has officially rocked my world! She gets into everything that has the potential to be dangerous. My darling Kayden has NOT prepared me for having a mobile child. Kloey likes to pull on cords, rock lamps, and explore electrical outlets (which are covered!). Now that she is crawling she gets to things that were once out of reach. And although she loves this new found freedom, she prefers to walk everywhere. If you make the mistake of letting her hold your hands she will pull herself up and start to walking. Trying to put her down is met with screams and tears because she could walk around ALL day. Now that Kloey is on the move my life has taken a new turn. TV is no longer as effective of a babysitter in the morning while I make breakfasts, clean up the house, and do miscellaneous chores. I’m not joking when I say that she use to sit on the couch and play with toys with Mickey Mouse Club House playing in the background. I’d get a good 30-45 minutes to do my chores. Now, NOT SO MUCH!! Now I have to get a few things done while she is sitting in her highchair eating breakfast. Great, 10 minutes to get it all done! I am finding new, creative ways to get things done. Kayden is becoming a good babysitter ;).

Two weeks ago the Hatchers went on vacation with the Mihelich clan to Palm Springs. We really had a great time. We hung out in the pool, went off-roading in the Jeep, played on the golf course, some went golfing (others worked on their tan!), and just enjoyed a week being away. Thanks Mimi + Grampy, Uncle Jer + Katrina, and Uncle Nick for all of the extra help with the girls so that it truly felt like a vacation for Scotty and me!!

For Christmas Uncle Jer and Auntie Katrina got day passes for Scotty and I to take Kayden to Disneyland. What a perfect gift!! We had been saying that we thought Kayden was approaching the age of going to the “Happiest Place on Earth”, but we weren’t sure she was ready. We needed to prep the princesses and make sure she was ready to ride the rides! After taking her to Sea World many times, we knew she was ready for the rides, but we weren’t sure she would appreciate the magic of Disneyland. After a few months of movie watching, Mickey Mouse Club House watching, princess book reading, and summer approaching, we knew it was time to go!! What perfect timing it was!! We went on a Tuesday in the middle of April (a few weeks out from Spring break and a few months away from summer). Kayden’s father is kind of known for researching and the day we chose was not random!! We arrived when the park opened, rode 7 rides, ate some good treats, explored Tom Sawyers island, ate some more treats, and forced a toy on Kayden to mark her first trip to Disneyland. Jer and Katrina, we truly can’t thank you enough for the gift of Disneyland. We know we will be back soon! Thank you Mimi for watching Kloey so that we could spend the day indulging our first born. We have not spent a day, or even an hour, together with just Kayden. To spend the day spoiling our sweet princess was a wonderful treat! We had a great day, and because we were so engaged in what was going on (aka Tiff’s phone ran out of memory) we didn’t capture half as many pictures as we would have liked. Oh well, the memories live within!! Enjoy what we did capture!!

This is Kayden on her way to the big day! Click the image to see a video!

Our first ride!! It’s A Small World!! A nice way to ease in to the day. A long ride. A slow ride. Good music. Calm. An overall peaceful experience!

Next up is Lunch! Corn dogs, chicken nuggests, and fries! Seriously, I dropped the ball!! Disneyland has so many awesome restaurants, but for some reason I wanted to go to a rinky-dink restaurant by Pirates of the Carribean thinking they had a plethora of items to choose from. WRONG! They literally had 3 items!! Bummer!! But it still tasted like Disneyland!!

We had a great day riding rides, eating junk, exploring Tom Sawyer’s Island, and trying on Mouse Ears that we knew she’d never wear beyond the store!

We had such a great, and productive day, that little Miss Kayden didn’t even make it out of the parking lot before she indulged in her mid-day nap!!

This past weekend we went to a birthday party and left with more than a goodie bag – COOTIES!!! By Tuesday morning Kayden was a hot mess. Her nose runny, eyes swollen and red, and her normal fun-loving personality all but gone. She tried very hard to stay away from her sister, but by Wednesday they had both fallen victim. A two year old is a little easier to take care of because they’ll let you wipe their boogs, and they can curl up on the couch and be distracted by their favorite Disney movie. A 10 month old, now that’s a different story! The snot sucker makes her mad. The kleenex make her mad. Food makes her mad. And formula makes her PISSED! She can’t breathe while eating or drinking so she refuses it all. Due to refusing formula and food and consequently not having any soiled diapers, I figured we better go to the doctor in case dehydration set in. With the amount of snot and tears flowing from that child, I thought for sure she was dehydrated!! Fortunately, she just has a cold. No ear infection or fever to speak of. Unfortunately, she is too young to take any decongestant so we must ride this baby out! Kayden has had less than a handful of these colds in her life and this Kloey’s first one. Having two sick kiddos is hard on this mommy for sure. Especially because I am the latest victim:(. Luckily my immune system is pretty good and I should have this kicked by tomorrow. Let’s hope my girls are just as lucky! Lesson learned, I will never be bringing my children back to the cesspool known as Kidsville!!

Kloey is 10 months BIG!! Our little diva is getting so big and changing literally every day! Kloey is still a super sleeper – sleeping 11 hours at night and takes two routine naps (about 1.5 hours each). She is becoming more verbal with phrases of ‘all done’, ‘uh-oh’, and new words such as, ‘dada’ and the occasional ‘mama’ (although I’m pretty sure she is holding on to that one on purpose because she thinks it’s funny!). Kloey can wave hi and bye. She might not be doing the traditional crawl, but she navigates rooms by pushing herself backwards and rolling around. In fact, just this week Kayden and I were reading stories in her room and Kloey decided to leave the room entirely. I found her half way down the hall! Like her sister, she chooses to do all gross motor activities on her own time! Kloey has six teeth, although only 5 are easily seen. She takes three bottles and has three true meals a day. She eats a lot of table food and seems to love all things fruit- like her sister!! She will eat any steamed veggie cut in to bite size pieces. Kayden was a good eater, but I think Kloey will be a GREAT eater. She has yet to refuse any foods – even a creamed spinach and sweet pea bisque! As long as she has some apple sauce or yogurt to wash it down, this girl will eat anything!! Kloey is in size 18 months clothing and seems to be outgrowing her clothes much quicker than Kayden! My 18 month bin of Kayden clothes are summer clothes filled with tank tops, skirts, and plenty of shorts. Miss Kloey might not have the rolls that sweet Kayden had, but she is clearly a bigger/longer little girl!! Kloey is such a mild mannered little princess who has no problem letting her mother know when she is discontent! Miss Kloey seems to be following in her sister’s footsteps with milestones, but this mommy thinks that once she realizes the true freedom she is capable of, we are all in trouble!! Let’s go explore the world Klo Bot!!
