I feel like I am so back logged with blogs that I just don’t know where to start. We have had so many changes in the past month. The first big change is that the girls now sleep together in the SAME room!! When we were in Palm Springs we were forced to put them together just due to space. We knew it was a goal to have them in the same room eventually, but we thought we should wait until Kloey dropped her first nap and they were truly on the same schedule. I have been training both girls to be on the same napping schedule since Kloey joined our family. They both take the same afternoon nap, so there really was no reason to wait. Kayden loves having Kloey in her room. I think it’s because she feels safe having her in there because that way she is not alone. My little timid rose is scared of everything so having an extra body in the room probably makes her feel a little more secure. So far the transition has been met with very few bumps. If only I could get my nearly 3 year old to get out of bed when she wakes up from her nap! She insists on calling me, which might or might not wake Kloey up. Both girls don’t do well when woken up early from their naps! Kayden is a really hard sleeper, so if Kloey wakes up first we can usually go in and get her without waking Kayden up. She also sleeps through Kloey’s random cries in the night. So far, we are SO happy they are in the same room. They now have a pretty sweet play room too! There is a deluxe kitchen, overflowing toy box, closet filled with art supplies, and an art easel. There’s lots to do!
The second major change in our lives has been the mobility of Kloey. Kloey has been shoveling around rooms for a month or so, but she never quite understood the concept of crawling. She would steam roll, push and pull herself around rooms, and could navigate in and of any room. In the past week, she has discovered crawling and walking while holding hands. Now this girl has officially rocked my world! She gets into everything that has the potential to be dangerous. My darling Kayden has NOT prepared me for having a mobile child. Kloey likes to pull on cords, rock lamps, and explore electrical outlets (which are covered!). Now that she is crawling she gets to things that were once out of reach. And although she loves this new found freedom, she prefers to walk everywhere. If you make the mistake of letting her hold your hands she will pull herself up and start to walking. Trying to put her down is met with screams and tears because she could walk around ALL day. Now that Kloey is on the move my life has taken a new turn. TV is no longer as effective of a babysitter in the morning while I make breakfasts, clean up the house, and do miscellaneous chores. I’m not joking when I say that she use to sit on the couch and play with toys with Mickey Mouse Club House playing in the background. I’d get a good 30-45 minutes to do my chores. Now, NOT SO MUCH!! Now I have to get a few things done while she is sitting in her highchair eating breakfast. Great, 10 minutes to get it all done! I am finding new, creative ways to get things done. Kayden is becoming a good babysitter ;).
