Yesterday the girls had a check up- Kloey’s 2 week check up and Kayden’s 2 year check up (a bonus to having nearly the same birthday?!). Both girls are growing and developing well on track. Here are their updates:
Kloey Regan:
Height- 21.75 iches; 99th percentile (tall girl!)
Weight- 8 lbs 11 oz; 71st percentile
Head Circumference- 36 cm; 75th percentile
Kloey can briefly follow some moving objects with her eyes and can lift and turn her head when laying tummy to tummy with me. She is easily soothed when she is picked up and has an unusually strong grasp. She is a super sleeper… during the day! We have our good nights and bad nights, but never in between! We are trying to figure out what her preferences are- swaddle or no swaddle, crib or bassinet, light on or light off, etc. We are still a work in progress, but she is such a great baby and hardly ever objects to mommy’s new tricks that are perhaps unfavorable to her! Miss Kloey in your short two weeks here you have come so far! I can’t wait to watch you grow and accomplish new things!!
Kayden Riley:
Height- 36.25 inches; 96th percentile
Weight- 30 lbs; 90th percentile
Head Circumference- 49; 90th percentile
Body Mass Index- 46; 45th percentile
Kayden is learning to put on and take off articles of clothing. She can wash her hands with some help. Kayden is getting better at independent play and parallel playing with her friends Eli, Aubrey, and Aiden. She can feed herself with a spoon with a relatively small mess. Her grammar is coming along nicely, as well. She uses plurals, refers to herself as “I” or “me”, combines a string of up to 4-5 words, responds to questions appropriately, knows well over 100 words, follows 2 step directions, and can make demands requests. As for gross motor development, Kayden can kick and throw a ball forward, runs all over the place, and can stack objects. We just need to work with Kayden on stepping up and down small stairs. Kayden has adjusted to Kloey and sleeps through our mid-night feedings. She still sleeps about 11 hours at night with a two hour nap in the afternoon. Thank goodness for one good sleeper!! Miss Kayden you are growing up so fast and doing so many AWESOME things!!
