The whole bath experience doesn’t get fun until the baby can at least sit up. Until then they can’t be in too deep of water and the temperature has to be luke warm at best. In addition, they have to be completely exposed and babies like to wrapped tight so that’s no fun either. I gave Kloey her first bath a few days ago and I haven’t gone back since!

I can’t believe my princess is 2!! Kayden turned two yesterday and as she reached this major milestone I find myself reflecting on the past two years… especially as I start over with her sister! Kayden is truly an amazing daughter and sister. She loves to be right by my side and while this can be a bit taxing at times, it still warms my heart to hear her constantly calling “Mommy come!” I love that she needs me and wants to be with me all of the time! Kayden, may this be the second of many wonderful birthdays to come!

Our day started with a few presents before we headed out to breakfast. Scotty and I decorated the house and wrapped a few small presents that she could open before the big gift arrived via FedEx later that afternoon! After we opened gifts we ventured out for a celebratory breakfast a local restaurant. Both girls did great on our first adventure out all together!!

Later that day, the BIG gift arrived! What does every 2 year old need?? A huge pool of course! Scotty was in charge of researching and purchasing the pool. I should have known better! I was expecting a blow up pool, but instead got a family sized pool with a filtration system that takes chlorine or saltwater, and a solar top that self-heats the darn thing! 🙂 I know she’ll just love this pool and will spend some good time soaking up the sun this summer!

Nam and Papa got Kayden a deluxe kitchen set that she absolutely LOVES!! Scotty and Nam spent a good part of the afternoon putting it together and this little girl just loved being in her kitchen. Must be because she sees her mother in the kitchen cooking all of the time! 😉

We ended the day with a birthday dinner. I have to admit, I dropped the ball and didn’t make her a cake this year. I did make her cookies though and she didn’t seem to mind! We sung her Happy Birthday many times throughout the day, but at dinner she got a candle to blow out. To my surprise, she was able to blow the candle out! Let’s just say she has an original way of blowing, so I was surprised the candle went out. 🙂

Happy Birthday, Kayden!!!!!!!!!

We are thrilled to announce the newest member of the Hatcher Family: Kloey Regan Hatcher!! Kloey was born at 3:46 PM on May 31st. She weighed in at 8 pounds 2 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long (although at her doctor’s appointment today she measured 21 inches, which means they under measured her in the hospital). I had an easy labor with Kloey and she came into this world immediately announcing her arrival with a nice solid shriek. I was surprised how emotional I was with her birth, but when they placed her in my arms for the first time I became a sniveling baby! I now have my second princess and I could not be more thrilled! So far Miss Kloey is an excellent eater and a pretty good sleeper too. When she cries it only means she’s hungry or she’s having a diaper change. She does not like to be cold, but since plugging in the wipey warmer, she no longer hates diaper changes! Kloey is such a good baby and Scotty and I are so happy that she has come to join our family!!

While we were in the hospital having Kloey, Kayden stayed at home with Nam. It sounds like they had SO much fun together. From playing at the beach, going on walks, watering the flowers, playing in her house in the backyard, singing songs, and just hanging out, this little girl was surely spoiied by her Nam! Mimi was in and out to help spoil the princess, but Mimi spent her time in the hospital with us making sure we had everything we needed and were as comfortable as possible.

When it was finally time to go home, I was more than excited to introduce Kayden to her baby sister. We had been talking about “baby Kloey” for months now, but never really knew how much Kayden understood. When we brought her in the house she was initially apprehensive and didn’t really want to touch the baby. She would put her hand as close to Kloey as she could without touching her. We encouraged her to give her sister kisses and hugs. Eventually, she warmed up. She’s still very careful with Kloey, but she always wants to know where she is if she is in another room. She has been so helpful with getting things for me to help Kloey. I am really trying hard to enlist her help and not make Kloey an inconvenience in her life. So far, so good!! I’m really confident that Kayden loves her little sister!

In the past few weeks I have been trying to finish out my pregnancy (the LEAST comfortable time in the whole pregnancy) with just one child. I have been so lucky to have the extra hands of Mimi and Nam for the past few weeks since I’ve started my maternity leave. They literally have her occupied from the second they walk in the door until the minute they leave. I have had the opportunity to sit with my feet up as I listen to Kayden run in and out of the house and all around the backyard. An extra bonus to the grandmothers helping out is that Kayden has returned to her awesome sleep schedule. An 11 hour sleep at night and a 2 hour nap in the day- that’s right I’ll take all the sleep I can get now that the end is near! In spite of the help with Kayden I have still been pretty uncomfortable doing most daily tasks. As my tummy expands it is much more challenging to get up and down off the floor to play with baby dolls- Kayden’s constant demand! As my due date draws near I am finding myself a little emotional as I think about my little family of three. We are so thrilled to welcome our newest and final member of the family, but I have to say that I’m a little sad about dividing the attention I’ve been able to indulge on Kayden for the past two years. I know in my heart that she will be an amazing big sister and will eventually adjust to sharing me, her bestie, with her little sister!!In the mean time, here are some super cute candid shots of my one princess!

I have made it to the final month of pregnancy!! I am 36 weeks pregnant and at my last appointment my doctor wasn’t convinced that the baby had flipped to a head down position, so she ordered an ultrasound. Scotty and I were excited because we didn’t get a late ultrasound with Kayden, so we were excited to see what our baby looks like fully developed. We had our ultrasound this morning and it turns out she wasn’t cooperating again and we didn’t get but a glimpse of a profile shot (I’ll be honest, I didn’t catch the glimpse!). The ultrasound tech did measurements of the important things and confirmed that baby girl has indeed flipped. Like Kayden, I am carrying the baby very low, and likely that is why the doctor wasn’t able to feel her head at my last appointment. The baby has a strong heart beat and everything is measuring on track. My doctor offered to check to see if I was dilated and I figured why not! Turns out I am 1 centimeter dilated and 50% effaced. These were the two measurements I got two days before Kayden was born. Of course, I can go all the way to term with these measurements (or even more dilated!), but it’s still kind of exciting to know that the process is moving forward. Here’s hoping Little MIss stays nice and cozy inside mommy for at least another week or two… I still have nesting to do!!
