Kayden has been a social butterfly for many months now. Whether it be screams, giggles, singing, or babbling, Kayden has always had something important to say! She has been saying da da da da da  and ma ma ma ma ma for a while. They aren’t associated with Scotty or I just yet, but we’re close! Now we are finding that she is saying ‘hi’ and it appears to be appropriate. She will mimic us saying ‘hi’ to her, but she really gets into it when either Scotty or I are getting home. In fact, we think we heard ‘hi dada’ the other day (conveniently on Dada’s birthday!). I have no doubt that my child will be a talker- just like her Mimi and Nam!!!

Here is a video from Mimi of Kayden saying ‘hi’ to us all! Click image to view video.

This next video is just classic. Kayden was spending the day with Eli. Maica innocently asked Kris, her husband, to dress Kayden while she wrestled with Eli (he HATES having his outfit and diaper changed). Being a nice mommy, Maica gave Kris the easier child to change. Kayden might have been easier to change, but clearly she presented a very obvious challenge to Kris ;)!

In case you couldn’t see the outfit clearly from the video,  here is a pic that captures the whole outfit! Thanks Kris :)!

Today is Scotty’s 31st birthday! Happy Birthday to the BEST husband & Father EVER!!!!!

Nam and Papa got Scotty a contraption to put on his beach cruiser that would hold the baby. I closely inspect the box just looking for the age/poundage of the child desired to use this device. I quickly notice the phrase “This device is intended for children 1 year of age.” I immediately notify Scotty that he will not be carting MY child in that contraption for exactly 5 weeks. Nam also sent a helmet. In big bold letters, the helmet says for children 3+. I think back to Nam’s visit and wonder what she is doing sending gifts that can’t immediately be enjoyed. So I emailed Nam to say thank you for the gifts. I explained to her that my child will love the bike contraption in a few short weeks. She sweetly replied that the age limit is probably based on size/weight and that our little princess is probably ready for the bike ride now. As for the helmet, we both know our babe has a large dome. Daddy decided to try on the helmet while I was out. Apparently it fits!! Let it be known, this helmet is adjustable and I’m pretty sure (I think?!) it was on the smallest setting. 😉

It’s no secret, Kayden is a good eater. It’s really amazing if you think about it. I carried her in my belly for her first 9 months and honestly she shared a banana EVERY day that I was pregnant and a burrito probably every other day. I tried to eat an apple here and there and I definitely tried to get in my veggies, but honestly I dislike both of these food groups and I really only ate the same 2-3 fruits/veggies each and every day. Kayden is now a human garbage disposal! She will eat anything I give her and enjoy every bite! Well today she was being finicky with her lunch, which is so rare! She happen to get her finger in some of the food and decided that it was pretty funny to feel the food before she ate it. For whatever reason, this started a new trend in eating for the entire day! Lunch was a complete mess with the food turning into her first finger painting. At snack she had to feel her fruit cup before each and every bite went into her mouth. And at dinner she had to help daddy by feeling each of her dinner items. I think it’s time to roll out the tarp as I had to clean up lunch off the wall! 🙂

Hoppee Easter Friends and Family! What a wonderful Easter celebration we had! Kayden’s first Easter was spent at Mimi and Grampy’s place. We dyed Easter eggs (though let’s be honest, it was Auntie Katrina, Scotty, and I battling each other for the best Easter Egg while Kayden napped!). Okay okay I won by a landslide! 😉 We had a great day just hanging out with family and friends. Kim and her girls came over for a few hours and it was so fun to just be with my best friend Kim and her two amazing girls. Kimmee I love you so much for doing the baby thing first and teaching me along the way!! Uncle Jer and Auntie Katrina, Kayden loves you so much and we love all of our visits together! Uncle Nicky, Kayden loves your sneaky kisses and can’t wait for the day that she is running around with you! Grampy, Kayden loves that you never forget that her mommy is your first princess!! Mimi, Kayen knows that her Mommy is defeated by the fact that you always hold her, but we think it’s funny all the same!!

Here are some great pictures from Kayden’s first Easter Celebration.

Today Papa came to visit. When he arrived Kayden was napping and Papa and Scotty decided to watch man shows- i.e. anything on the Discovery or History Channel. Once Kayden woke up, Papa was determined to play with her… from a distance! She definitely took some time to warm up to him, but once he flew her around the room, they seemed to be best friends… as long as Mommy and Daddy were within view! We had a wonderful rainy day afternoon together. I did laundry and baby food-making while the boys relaxed and entertained the baby. What a wonderful Easter!

P.S. We did the traditional Easter activities with Mimi and family on Saturday.

Here are just a few of the highlights of Papa with Kayden.
