This morning I had a few minutes before work and decided to look back at my blogs from the first months of Kayden’s life. It’s amazing, but a lot of my posts were on sleep! Why is it amazing? Because I was NOT sleeping!! Now that my baby is a sleeping genius, I find my strategies and philosophies laughable! I read one of my first posts where I was convinced that Kayden sleeping in our bed was the reason my 1 month old was sleeping for 3 HOURS! That’s funny because a 1 month old wakes up every 3 hours no matter what you do! Anyway,Β  now that I am a “pro” (ha!), I know that each night is independent of the night before and in the beginning NOTHING is going to solve sleep deprivation! My posts further confirm that as soon as I have figured it out, I was in fact wrong! What works one night sure doesn’t seem to help the next! Within that first post I happen to honestly mention that I am a schedule freak and that my kiddo needed to adhear to that. That was laughable then, but, low and behold she finallyΒ  has! So here is our sleep update: Kayden goes to bed at 7:15 and wakes up at 6:30ish. She wakes up around 6:30 and I always watch her play in her crib for at least 10 minutes to fully wake up. She is like her daddy, if you try to talk to her too early, you’re going to hear the roar of the tiger! πŸ˜‰ Her first nap is around 9 o’clock and lasts for a minimum of 1 hour. Her next nap is around 1:00 and lasts about 2 hours. These nap times, aka sanity checks, are a wonderful blessing for mommy. It definitely hasn’t been long enough that I have forgotten the sleepless nights and the LONG days. I sure do appreciate my sleeping genius!!

Here are a few pics of Kayden going to bed tonight. She no longer wants Mommy to rock her to sleep. She loves to play with crib toys until she is ready to go to sleep. Go figure, my baby has her own schedule that she must adhere to!

And finally she is asleep!

And here are the highlights of Kayden’s day with Eli, Maica, and Perla (Maica’s former student who comes to help out with babies when she can! :)) Maica is braver than me taking TWO babies out to lunch!

I had been debating all week whether or not it was worth it to take Kayden to see the Easter Bunny. Santa couldn’t make her smile at 6 months and now at 10 months I had a sneaking suspicion that the Easter Bunny was going have a bigger challenge… keeping her from crying! Before it was our turn, we watched a few pictures taken with another baby. All the while Kayden was laughing, shrieking, and kicking in joy. I thought for sure we had this one in the bag. Well something changed when Mr. Bunny approached us to introduce himself to Kayden. Her big blue eyes got even bigger as she watched this life size animal. The giggles and shrieks turned to silence. I danced with her for a few seconds and then handed her over. Luckily, the photographer (whose probably seen this before ;)) snapped a shot immediately after I put her down. Go figure that would be the only photo taken without a red-faced crying baby!! So one might ask, do you buy the pictures? Of course! Not only did I buy the pictures, but I got nearly the most expensive package!! Why? Because it was either get the cheap package and get one medium-sized picture and a bunch of wallet pictures (who really carries pictures in their wallet any more… especially if you have a PHONE?). That just doesn’t make sense! So I opted for the medium-high package with a few ‘big’ ones (5×7) and still a bunch of wallet-sized pictures!

Random cuteness:

I know my loyal readers tune into HatcherHome to check in on Kayden, but today we celebrate the pugs! Jinx (7 year old female) and Kooper (6 year old male) just had a day at the spa. They each got a bath (with all of the extras!) and Jinx even got a hair cut. These wonderful pugs deserve a day of pampering every once in a while! When is it mommy’s turn?! πŸ™‚

Here are a few glamor shots of the Kooper!

Maica had baby duty today and I swear she always captures the best videos! Here are a few of their highlights today…

This video is of the kids challenging each other for the garage remote control. I know I have said this before, but what is with these babies loving any and every thing other than baby toys?! They are most fascinated by remotes, phones, computers, etc. Either way, this video is a great show of how our little ones are learning to ‘share’!

As teachers, Maica and I are thrilled that the babies are learning to share a book!

And here are the babies en route on a lunch date! It’s amazing, they have gone on more dates than Scotty and I have been on since their arrivals!! πŸ˜‰

As always, thank you Maica for the sweet videos!! I love watching them throughout the day and sharing them with our students!

Nam has been in California visiting her children and grandchildren for the past week-and-a-half. It’s so fun to watch Kayden interact with her Nam! Kayden never has stranger danger with Nam. It really is amazing!! I have to think that her comfort is because of iChat. Nam has a squeal about her that Kayden seems to instantly recognize! Nam we have so enjoyed your visit; from the wardrobe enhancement to the frequent play dates, Kayden is so lucky to have her Nam! We enjoyed our visit and look forward to the next! Have a safe flight home and enjoy your Spring Break with the boys! πŸ™‚
