This weekend Kayden rode in her first swing! I guess I always think of her as my little baby that of course is too small to ride in a swing. I mean, she could slip right out of the leg hole!! Well to my surprise she fit right in the swing and had a great time! She wasn’t too sure what to make of it at first, but she did great. She didn’t fall out or fall over in the swing either! I think it’s almost time to hit up some local parks… not too local, maybe we’ll go to Carlsbad! Now I just need her to start crawling… or at least seem interested in crawling!!

On Sunday Scotty and I had our day date. There is no date night, but we have come up with day date. Day date just means out to lunch and run some errands. Lunch is a great time to take a baby out. She gets to eat, we get to eat, and all is great. Usually kids are out during the day so any restaurant is nice and loud. We went to Islands on our way to Costco and lunch was a success! Kayden snacked on a crayon.. and we watched. Why would they give a 9 month old BABY crayons and a coloring sheet?! We tried to teach her to color, but the crayon just tasted too good!

May today not be spent crying for our loss, but smiling as we remember Grandma Mini! Grandma Mini was an extraordinary lady and she will forever fill my heart with warm memories. I am sad that she has left this Earth, but I thank her for being so special in my life. Grandma Mini, may I always remember the laughs we shared as you retold stories about how sassy I was as a child. May I always remember our trips to the Zoo, the Wild Animal Park, and Sea World as if it were yesterday. May I always think of you when I hear a Neil Diamond song. And I promise not to cry, but I will smile as I remember sitting in the back seat of the Cadillac as we headed out on yet another adventure. I will remember you at my wedding looking beautiful and telling me how happy you were for me. And I promise I will always remember your final words to me… “I love you too.”

Nam came out for a visit this week and I managed to capture one photo session with Nam in it. As you can tell, the only reason she is in the picture is because Kayden is sleeping on her and she wouldn’t dare get up to run away and risk waking her! Kayden has always been prone to falling asleep on Nam. It’s nice to see that even though the months have slipped by, that she still finds comfort in Nam’s arms. We have enjoyed your visit Nam and can’t wait to see you again at the end of the month!

Kayden has zillions of toys, but she continues to favor Mommy’s iPhone, the remote control (aka Mommy’s favorite toy!), and the key board (the newest addition to the toys!).  She has already created her first art work via the iPad! Kayden is so inquisitive, it’s so fun to watch her explore and learn. 🙂

Kayden spent a special day today with Nam and Kelly. She went on walks, danced, played, sang, and learned some great new tricks! Of course Nam will not be captured in any pics, so here is Kayden on a walk (with Nam) and Kayden with her Auntie Kel! So sweet!

Click on the stroller pic and if you look carefully you will see Kayden’s upper canine! Looks like a tick tac, says Grampy! 🙂

Baby Duty seems to be getting easier as the babies learn how to play…. and how to play together. Eli is sitting up now (yeah Eli!!) and he has also learned how to snatch Kayden’s toys! It’s great because they steal toys, which I think is so cute, but neither of them gets upset by it… yet!

Eli came over this morning wearing the MOST AWESOME hat I have ever seen! I’m sad that I didn’t capture the hat fully in this pic, but let’s just say one of the ‘horns’ has a piercing. Love your many hats Eli!!

I couldn’t resist putting Kayden’s shades on Eli while we were playing and waiting for her to wake up! Eli was such a great sport and didn’t rip them off once!
