Technology… ain’t it grand?! When Kayden was born she slept in our room. It wasn’t long before she got evicted. I say that with only love in my heart. Kayden was a very vocal sleeping baby. She grunted. She groaned. She screamed. She shrieked. And none of these noises ever warranted mommmy. As a new mommy I would often scoop up baby in my arms and attempt to rock her back to sleep. More often than not, I was the one waking up baby as she shifted from sleep cycles. So maybe it was a little early, but at 6 weeks we moved Kayden to her nursery… a whopping 20 feet away! With both doors open, I still insisted on a baby monitor. We opted for the $20 monitor, which meant you either heard her inhaling and exhaling or you missed everything! It was only a matter of days before Scotty ordered  a FOS security cam! I’m sure I can’t do it justice as to the capabilities, but this cam allows me (and our WHOLE family) to watch as baby Kayden sleeps, tosses, turns, and plays through the night (and her naps). Luckily, there is no sound because every once in a while Kayden needs a few minutes to fall asleep and sometimes it’s met with a little resistance! We are so happy that Nam/Papa and Mimi/Grampy can watch their only grand daughter each and every day. Uncle Jer and Katrina sneak peeks too. Are you watching Uncle Nicky?! Here are a few shots of Kayden as we all see and love her from the ‘cam’:

Here is what I see when I wake up:

Here is what I see promptly at 6:30 am. You know, since she was a baby I knew she woke up every 3 hours on the dot. She is so my daughter… routine is comfortable!! Every morning at 6:30 I see my princess stirring and getting ready to face the day!

Here is what we ALL see at nap time!

And here is what we see when Mommy decides to forgo the nap and hit the mall!

I know I did many posts about Kayden’s late night dance parties and whatnot when she was just a little one, but really this child has been so great about getting on a routine and sticking to it. We have two ‘teefies’ (as we call them), and still we have an 11 hour nighttime sleep. She also has two regular naps that are sometimes compromised on the weekends, but Kayden just rolls with it. She is truly amazing!!

The calendar is the only thing that can convince me that it’s February… aka Winter!! The weather has been absolutely amazing the past few months. One of the things Scotty and I love to do is sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down. It’s so peaceful sitting on the balcony, soaking up the sun and just reflecting on life. Kayden joins us, hat and all! She gets to sit and watch the pugs check out the walking neighbors and run in and out of the house! We are so blessed to live so close to the beach and be in a home we truly love!

What a View:

Jinx LOVES the sun too!

But, no one loves the beautiful weather more than Kayden!

Check out the bow! Yeah, I found one strand of hair to clip it to.

There’s nothing sweeter than a father’s love for his daughter!

She has a whole slew of toys, but none are as coveted as the remote control.

Way too cool for school!

Kayden’s first Valentine’s Day is coming!! I always decorate for the holidays and I do so at least a month before the actual holiday. Well the same goes for Kayden’s outfits! It’s February so I brought out the Valentine’s Day garb that Mimi bought! What a cute outfit! Unfortunately it lasted for about an hour before we had to change ;)… and therefore we weren’t able to get too many photo ops!

The Super Bowl came and went. I guess it was sort of exciting… Christina Aguilara messed up the National Anthem. đŸ™‚

Nam sent Kayden a whole slew of bath time toys and she couldn’t be happier. Kayden has loved bath time since the day I put her in her mock bath tub inside the big kid bathtub. Lately it seems that the evenings have been harder and harder on Miss Kayden. If she doesn’t get her 2 hour snooze in the pm (because heaven forbid mommy needs to run a few errands!) then the later afternoon can be a challenging time for Kayden. She’s tired but she doesn’t want to nap… or mommy doesn’t want her to nap because it’s too close to bedtime (7:00). Anyway, Nam knew we were in need of some bath time toys so she came to the rescue!!

Thank you Nam for the BEST bath time fun in the Hatcher home!

Daddy and the pugs helped entertain while mommy got the bath ready!

Kayden loves bath time fun…. except when mommy squeeks the rubber duckies!

Kayden you are such an adventurous babe! We love that you love bath time and use the time to get your energy out before sleeping for 11 hours… wow, I love you!!
