The weekend has come and gone and it’s already Tuesday! This past weekend was a nice and relaxing one. We spent the days enjoying the weather with walks to the beach/harbor and we ran some much needed errands. We have decided that October and November are probably the best months here in Southern California at the beach. The sun is out, but it isn’t too hot. We love taking our little family out into the world and enjoying the perks of living at the beach.

Kayden is wearing leggings in this picture (from BabyLegs- thanks Kim for the website!). I think they are perhaps the cutest things in the world, but Scotty just thinks she looks like she stepped out of the 80s. Too bad for him, I got a Christmas pair too!!

At five months old my baby is finally sleeping through the night! She had been waking up one time a night since four months old, which was such a great treat compared to the every three hours in the previous months. At four months the experts say that babies have the weight to sustain sleeping all night. Well after a month of waking up at 3 am and eating for half of her normal time, I figured we might have snacking going on! So right at five months we decided no more feeding at 3 am. The first night she talked, cried, and kicked for about 30 minutes and went back to sleep. She did this twice in the night, which made it hard for me because I was awake the whole time and had a harder time soothing myself back to sleep than her. The second night she did this one time. And the third night she woke up at 5 am and said a few coos and self-soothed back to sleep. We are finally on our way to being a normal sleeping family!! Go Kayden!!!

Scotty and I have only left Kayden in the loving hands of her grandparents for any length of time. Whether we headed out on a date or celebrated a birthday/anniversary,  we have left our princess for only a few hours to have our alone time. As you know, I recently went back to work. Nam watched Kayden one day and Mimi has watched her for the other two days so far. Both women know that whether I am heading out on a date or heading out to work, I need my fixes! Every hour or so they know to send pictures and video. Here are a few of the pictures Mimi sent me yesterday to get me through my day!

This weekend seemed to fly by, as most weekends tend to. Saturday Scotty went surfing with Kris and afterward Maica and I treated ourselves to a pedicure. Aww sweet luxury! Although, both of our husbands managed to send us a video of our babies crying. As if that was motivation for us to hurry home ;). After our pedis we packed up the babies and went for a walk to the beach and the harbor. It was beautiful weather to be outside! On Sunday Eli and family came over with our new neighbor friends who will be referred to as Aiden and family. We celebrated another Charger win! I hate when the games are at 10 rather than 1. I was cleaning like a mad lady because it was our turn to host the game. I managed to get it all done while Scotty was out surfing!

Here are a few pics I captured over the weekend. Also, Kayden has begun to giggle! I have a video but I really have to act like an idiot to get her to do it, so I am not posting that one! Her giggles are so infectious! So are her smiles!

Well this past week has been a whirlwind it seems. I am all thrown off because I worked Monday and Tuesday so the rest of the week felt like it should have been the weekend! Scotty was away on his business trip so I packed up the baby and headed up to Yorba Linda. We left Wednesday and came home on Friday. I knew that being at home all day with just the baby would probably make me batty so I went to spend time with my family!

Nicky is finally ready to hold the baby! Kayden sure does love her Uncle Nicky!!

Kayden has learned to blow raspberries. She does this when she is being sassy and when she is mad. When she’s mad the raspberries turn into spitting, but whatever it’s still cute!

We had a nice visit with Kim and her girls. Addison was playing with the dolls and just having a fun time getting into things. We took the girls for a walk to the park. Addison swung on the swings and zipped down the slides. Kayden and Reese enjoyed a snack on the benches watching Addison do her things. Kim and I are excited for the time that our little ones are chasing after Addison!

This is what happens when mommy doesn’t make the rice cereal fast enough! I couldn’t resist dressing Kayden up in my mom’s doll clothes. Conveniently they wear 6-9 month clothing so I think Kayden might have some hand-me-down clothes coming her way.

Friday afternoon Scotty got home and we headed to the harbor for happy hour with Eli and family. Kayden wore a nice dress and cute bow. Unfortunately the outfit didn’t last! Daddy got a quick catch up on all of the poopy diaper changing that he missed all week. Good thing he took her to the car… she needed a wardrobe change and wipey rub down!
