This weekend Kayden got some good face time with her boyfriend Eli. Eli isn’t the best boyfriend right now because he sleeps through all of their dates, but Kayden doesn’t mind running the show! It’s so fun to see how different the babies are! Kayden is 15 weeks old and Eli is 4 weeks old. What a world of difference in terms of interacting. Kayden naps in 30 minute stretches and Eli will maybe open his eyes once or twice. Kayden needs constant entertainment and Eli would prefer we keep it down!

The babies are fun entertainment for Maica and I. The boys are usually on their iPads or having a beer and watching a football game. The Charger game wasn’t televised this weekend because they didn’t sell enough tickets. This presented a fun challenge for Scotty. He was able to find the game online and magically stream it to the TV. We had Eli over for another date to watch the game! Everyone had on their Charger gear, but unfortunately the camera never came out!

Part of my stay at home mom duties include keeping the fridge and cupboards stocked. In the past, I have been lucky enough to go grocery shopping when Mimi was helping out with Kayden. I could sneak out in the middle of the weak and avoid crowds and get it done quickly. Well this week Mims took the week off to help her parents settle into a new independent living facility and to prepare for her much needed vacation with friends to Santa Barbara. So Kayden and I have been left to fend for ourselves all week. Yesterday we headed out to Wal-Mart to grocery shop. Going to Wal-Mart is always an ‘experience’ but this time we really had some fun!

It all started with an empty cart!

[sthumbs=1164,200,1,n,center,]

We started by loading the cart with the baby. You’ll notice the car seat took up a majority of the grocery cart. It’s been almost 2 weeks since I went grocery shopping so I knew it wasn’t going to be a light trip! I decided to load ‘er up!

By the end of the trip she had had enough! We loaded up the car and headed home.

[sthumbs=1166|1168,160,2,n,center,]

All in all, it was a successful trip!!

Kayden is showing more and more of her personality each day. I know what makes her smile. I know when she has a poopy diaper. And I know when she’s just bored. Kayden loves when we make faces at her. The goofier we look the bigger she grins! I love to make her smile, but now I am on to raspberries. I decided one day that I was going to see if I could get her to stick her tongue out. So now I spend probably too much time sticking my tongue out at her and she is starting to do it back!! Mommy’s little sponge!

Notice the pugs on the couch… Yeah, we’re real tough in this house! Jinx was stalking back and fourth for like an hour and then (gasp) I gave in!!

When I found out that I was having a girl I said I was going to make her the biggest girly girl on the block. Other than wearing pink and purple every day, she isn’t super girly. I am trying to do more bows and more dresses (and some day glitter and tiaras!). Yesterday she wore a jumper dress that was just adorable. So of course we snapped a few shots!

We have been reading about and hearing from the doctors that we should be doing at least 20 minutes of tummy time each day. I know I have mentioned the importance of tummy time in previous posts. Some days I am better than others, but Miss Kayden does not like tummy time! She can’t be bothered lifting her own head when mommy is sitting right next to her. Lately she seems to be stretching and growing so fast. She’s getting too long to put her on the couch to do it so I had to find a new place. She pushes off hard enough that it propels her forward. The pugs are always at our feet and would soften her landing, but nonetheless we’d prefer that she doesn’t go flying just yet! So anyway I decided to put out a blanket and have some tummy time in her nursery. It didn’t go so well!

So tummy time ended early and we decided to try on all of our bows and have a photo shoot. She was having fun until the bows got too big! Then it went down hill!

The weather has been so great here that we have been able to continue to wear summer clothes. Today I dressed her up like her blanket. Mommy’s little bug!

Football season is officially under way. We love this time of year! We love to get together with our neighbors, Kris and Maica, and barbecue for the game. We have been doing this for a few years now. This year we have our little babes that get to join the party! Last night we kicked off the season watching a few games- can’t remember who because it wasn’t the Chargers… and well, it was more fun to play with the babies!

Since the Chargers weren’t playing we decided to put Kayden in her SDSU jersey. She really should have a bow on because her outfit was a little masculine. She’s so cute you can’t possibly mistake her for a boy… right?! 🙂

Tonight is the first Charger game of the season so Kayden and I have on our gear. She is in her pink Chargers onsie and I have my Chargers t-shirt on. We certainly look the part!! 🙂 Go Chargers!
