It’s no secret, I get the newest Apple products the day they are released. I sometimes stay up try really hard to stay up til midnight to preorder the product. Sometimes I wait in long lines that take up an entire day (that was in the old days!). And sometimes my husband just does it all for me. Wait, that’s every time!! So when the iPad Pro was announced, Scotty said that it would be great for me. OKAY!!! I didn’t pay much attention to it, until one morning he said it was ready for me to go pick it up! I got really excited, and then realized he had just tricked me! He wanted to see if I was going to blast him for spending the money. When I didn’t, he knew I wanted one and he ordered it immediately to be picked up that day. We even pushed back our Wild Animal Park trip an hour so we could drive to the Apple Store to pick it up. We were a bit eager and they weren’t ready for us just yet. So half to the Wild Animal Park they notified Scotty that it was ready for pick up. No we didn’t turn around, but we considered it!! This thing is huge and I absolutely love it! It’s my portable TV and, of course, has all of my silly apps too! Thanks for my newest toy Scotty!!

On Wednesday we took the girls to the Wild Animal Park. A few years ago we had season passes, but let them go because we weren’t using them often enough. Now that we are no longer bound by nap schedules, we figured it was worth it to get passes again. We had a GREAT time!! We rode the tram, walked through all of the major exhibits, stopped for lessons on different wild animals, had a picnic, pet animals, and walked some more! The girls had a great time running through the park and exploring the many different animals! All Kayden wanted to see were the flamingos. Weird, but whatever! We saw flamingos, apes, and wild birds, snakes, giraffes, rhinos, zebras,  and so much more!! I hope we use these passes more this year since the girls (and we!) had so much fun!!

So when is it no longer acceptable to let your child dress themselves? Honestly, I need to know!! I love to let my girls dress themselves because what they come up with is usually pretty hilarious. I would let Kayden dress herself every day that she didn’t go to pre-school last year. On school days, I had the final say. This year, going to school five of the seven days is clearly not giving her enough days to express herself through her wardrobe. So it all started with her sneaking to get dressed when I would be doing breakfast dishes. I would turn her on her heals and send her back to her room to try again. I got smart and laid three outfit options on her bed that she could chose from. This worked for about a week. Then one day she refused to change her mismatched outfit. Her outfits always made me laugh, so one day I let her go to school in her own outfit choice. Scotty might have had to convince me to let her go to school in the outfit she chose, but I think it was the right decision! She was very happy and no one made fun of her, ha! No matter what she wears, she’s always adorable to me!!

Happy Halloween, from our family to yours!! We were supposed to have a super hero theme among the neighborhood families, but Kayden and Kloey opted for the much cuter mermaid look. I have to admit, I HATE dressing up, especially when I am surrounded by such hot moms! But this year I got into the spirit and wore a costume that was probably intended for someone half my age. After squeezing myself into my costume and trick-or-treating for over a mile in my high heels, I think I’ll find a more mom-friendly costume next year!

The day before Halloween we finally decided to carve our pumpkin. The girls decided on a cat and Scotty and Kloey did all of the work! Kayden figured that since she had helped her class carve a pumpkin at school, she should be excused from helping at home. Like her mom, she doesn’t prefer to get dirty! So while Kloey and Scotty carved, I baked my first batch of pumpkin seeds. They turned out great!! Another great Halloween in the books!
