We seem to be amusement park jet setters these days! Yesterday Scotty and I took Kayden to California Adventure (Kloey “got” to stay back with Mimi since she is still too young to enjoy all of the rides). We could not have picked a better day to go to the park. The weather was perfect. The lines were non-existent (less than 5 minutes for every ride except for Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land). We rode nearly every ride (Including Tower of Terror where you free fall 10 stories… a few times – sorry Kayden! – parenting fail on that one!). And, finally, we sampled nearly every treat the park had to offer! We lasted until 4 o’clock and one of us nearly fell asleep eating her lollipop on the car ride home! Great Day!!

Yeah!! We finally got annual passes to LegoLand. Why the wait? We weren’t sure if Kayden would be old enough (aka tall enough) to enjoy the park up until this point… and then there’s always Kloey! I wanted to wait until an age that I could take both girls and each have things that they could do. I’d say we are at the perfect age! Kayden can ride the rides and Kloey is just as happy to wander around the park touching and exploring everything! There are a handful of rides that Kloey can go on too, so that’s a bonus. There are also a variety of designated areas throughout the park with play structures that both girls enjoy. There are things to climb, slide, ride, and run around.

The park also has an aquarium that we went to earlier this week. I was surprised at how big and kid-friendly it was. From slides to walking under tanks, they really thought of it all. Yet another (now) free activity to do! I should mention, however, that Nam came with us both days. I think I could manage the aquarium by myself with both girls, but not the amusement park! Kloey lasted an hour and a half (probably because she insisted on walking the WHOLE time). And it didn’t help that it was HOT and unless we were in the shade, it was uncomfortable. SoCal problems!! We had great first experiences at the aquarium and park. Thanks Nam for helping me with the girls!!

Well, it’s that time of year again- Christmas cards!! Every time I open my mailbox there is a new stack of beautiful pictures of our friends and family. I made the decision to not to Christmas cards this year for several reasons, but I am starting to feel a little guilty about not sending a card of MY beautiful family! So here I am with my digital Christmas Card. The Hatchers wish you and yours a very happy holiday season! May your holidays be filled with love, laughter, and good ‘ol fashion family time!!

This year we decided to start the Elf on a Shelf tradition. It has been around for a while, but I felt like the girls were too young last year to understand or care about an elf magically moving around the house. This year it has been a total success! Kayden doesn’t need a behavior management tool, but she loves trying to find the elf – Glitter – when she wakes up in the morning. We had a minor set back the first few days of Glitter’s arrival because Kayden was a little too eager to wake up and find her! Now she understands that if she wakes up too early, Glitter might not be back home yet! I don’t often find myself telling Kayden that Glitter is watching, however, I do find myself telling Kloey that she’s watching frequently. Unfortunately, Kloey doesn’t understand care! So far, Glitter has been a great addition to our holiday traditions!!

This year marks our second annual Halloween Bash!! The kids came dressed up and the parents came with far more kids than they did last year!! We had the over stated bounce house with slide and lots of treats for the kids and adults ;). When you have young children you will do anything to create more than one occasion to dress your kids up in their Halloween costume. Sure it might have been for the first 15 minutes while the stage moms positioned their kids and clapped and waved in the direction of the camera, but we managed to get a few pics of all kids. Sure, they aren’t all smiling or looking in the right directions, but they are all in the frame and looking ADORABLE!! Happy Halloween neighbors!!

I have NEVER claimed to be creative. In fact, I’ll be the first to tell you that I can’t tie a bow or even color in the lines for that matter!! I have either had too much time on my hands or a false sense of creativity stemming from some unknown source!! Here are a few of my far stretched Halloween creations!!

We love Halloween around here. The kids are not always a fan of the costumes, but I’m pretty sure they are okay with the treats! Here are a few outtakes from Hatcher Halloween Bash:
