I can’t believe how the time has flown by! I am officially in my third trimester of pregnancy and I’m down to the home stretch! Wow, I can’t believe in just a few short months I will have a second princess to dote on! I went today for a quick preggy appointment and everything is going smoothly. The baby’s heart beat is strong, my belly is growing at the right rate, and everything is just chugging along as expected. The doctor says that second babies usually come early and since Kayden came early, this one might make an early debut as well. I think it’s time to start planning and preparing for the new baby! Time for this Mommy to start nesting!!

Okay enough about me! Here are some pictures of Kayden and her whacky hair dos! Remember when I said she wouldn’t let me put bows in her hair and would rip out her piggie tails?? Well, all that has changed! She now requests “pony tails” and bows… “more bows”!!

Just like when the clothes come off, the energy pipes up when her hair gets done… hence the blurry pictures!

This week’s baby duty was much like all of the others, but here are some cute pictures from our day together!

Naked Babies!! These kids just love to be running around in their diapers. After breakfast Kayden immediately asks me for “Jammas off!” She usually runs around with just a diaper for about an hour. She always asks me for her “diaper off”, but we have had a few too many ‘accidents’ to speak of so we’ll keep the diaper on! Eli of course enjoyed in on some naked time too! It’s funny, they get a second wind when their clothes come off. They were acting SO goofy!

After an early morning snack we headed out for a nature walk. Kayden, of course, wanted to climb every curb we came across. She knows where they are located around the complex and always leads us to each of them! Luckily Eli was a good sport again and spent most of our ‘walk’ in the car letting Kayden push him around!

After our walk it was lunch time. I made them a PB&J with carrots and grapes. Nice healthy lunch, right? Too bad Eli zonked out after eating part of his sandwich! I was folding laundry on the couch while Kayden ate at her table and Eli in the highchair. I noticed it was quiet, which is usual when the animals are feeding, but it was too quiet. I looked over at Eli and he was face down in his chair!! I hadn’t even set up his bed yet! I whisked Kayden up-stairs to get his bed ready and then returned to him still sound asleep in the chair. I picked him up and of course he was covered in peanut butter. He must have been really tired because he let me clean his face off before taking him up to bed. He slept for the next hour and a half!

After nap time Scotty came home a little early to help out so that I could go to my dentist appointment. I have had this appointment scheduled for about 4 months and it was at a new dentist so I couldn’t flake! Lucky for Scotty I was only gone for an hour. Unlucky for me to come home to nearly every toy pulled out of the toy box, Legos scattered, puzzles undone, and dolls strewn about! I can’t complain though, he is super busy at work and he still came home to help me out!

Even though Kayden is a girl, she just might be a techie like her dad. She LOVES typing on her laptop (and the fax/scanner/printer!). As long as it isn’t plugged in, we let her go to town!

Whenever I have Baby Duty I always take the kids on at least one walk. This is always a risky move because you never can be prepared for two kids running in opposite directions. I think I have it figured out though. Eli rides in the car while Kayden ‘pushes’ him. This usually turns in to me holding her hand while I push Eli in the car. If I can go fast enough, I can convince Eli that he would rather be in the car than walking around. Most of the time it works out! Eli is actually really good at navigating the car around the complex so if he wants to walk while Kayden and I stop and smell all the flowers, it’s not so bad!

On our afternoon walks it never fails that we see the Trash Man. The kids hear the truck from the garage and they both start pointing (Eli) and yelling ‘trash man, trash man, TRASH MAN!!’ (Kayden). So I pull out their car and we head out to find the trash man. Well last week we had to follow the trash truck around half of the complex! We waved and he honked at each stop!

Oh, and luckily we ran into the mail man. We were able to observe him on a few stops as well!

Yesterday Kayden and I headed up to Corona to meet Stephanie’s newest baby boy- Brenner Jose Gabat! He was born February 23, a whopping 3 weeks early! Although he was a surprise for Steph and her family, it sounds like she had a very easy delivery. I know I have already been through the labor thing, but I am still just as scared to do it this time as I was with Kayden. My experience delivering Kayden was super easy and I felt literally nothing. I can only hope that I get this lucky again with baby #2! Anyway, back to our visit. Kim and her girls- Addison and Reese- met us at Steph’s house for a little play date with the girls. Poor Brenner will be the only boy in this play date! Kim so graciously brought us lunch- a healthy Mexican lasagna. It was so yummy!! The kids and the grown ups loved the tasty treat! Thanks Kim!! The girls got along well and I even got some time to catch up with the Kim and Steph. Unfortunately, my BFF Kayden didn’t quite understand that mommy really wanted to hang with the other mommies. She preferred me to play tea party with her and Avery and Addie!! It was such a great visit!! Thanks Steph for inviting us over to your BEAUTIFUL house. Thanks Kim for making lunch and making it look easy to be a mommy of two!! Hope to see you girls again SOON!!

So I have to admit, when Kayden was a baby I wasn’t very good about keeping bows and clips in her hair. It was no surprise when she figured how to rip them out that she did! Since she started sprouting hair I have been infrequently sticking bows in her hair to see what she might do. Each and every time, without fail, she would tear them out immediately. Well, this never stopped me from trying! You might remember a previous post of the ponytail. Well, we still aren’t ready for rubber bands, but I think we are ready to expand our bow collection! Lately Kayden has not only been leaving a bow clip in her hair, but she is beginning to request bows to be put in her hair each morning! Yesterday I thought I’d try to style her hair with more than one bow. We had a few ponytails going and to my complete shock she left them in her hair for about an hour and would even bring them to me to put back if they fell out!

Mimi got in on the bow action too. It seems like the more bows the better!! She even made me put bows in her hair before I took her to Eli’s house this morning! I was pretty surprised to see she still had almost all of the bows in her hair when I picked her up!
