Technology… ain’t it grand?! When Kayden was born she slept in our room. It wasn’t long before she got evicted. I say that with only love in my heart. Kayden was a very vocal sleeping baby. She grunted. She groaned. She screamed. She shrieked. And none of these noises ever warranted mommmy. As a new mommy I would often scoop up baby in my arms and attempt to rock her back to sleep. More often than not, I was the one waking up baby as she shifted from sleep cycles. So maybe it was a little early, but at 6 weeks we moved Kayden to her nursery… a whopping 20 feet away! With both doors open, I still insisted on a baby monitor. We opted for the $20 monitor, which meant you either heard her inhaling and exhaling or you missed everything! It was only a matter of days before Scotty ordered a FOS security cam! I’m sure I can’t do it justice as to the capabilities, but this cam allows me (and our WHOLE family) to watch as baby Kayden sleeps, tosses, turns, and plays through the night (and her naps). Luckily, there is no sound because every once in a while Kayden needs a few minutes to fall asleep and sometimes it’s met with a little resistance! We are so happy that Nam/Papa and Mimi/Grampy can watch their only grand daughter each and every day. Uncle Jer and Katrina sneak peeks too. Are you watching Uncle Nicky?! Here are a few shots of Kayden as we all see and love her from the ‘cam’:
Here is what I see when I wake up:

Here is what I see promptly at 6:30 am. You know, since she was a baby I knew she woke up every 3 hours on the dot. She is so my daughter… routine is comfortable!! Every morning at 6:30 I see my princess stirring and getting ready to face the day!

I know I did many posts about Kayden’s late night dance parties and whatnot when she was just a little one, but really this child has been so great about getting on a routine and sticking to it. We have two ‘teefies’ (as we call them), and still we have an 11 hour nighttime sleep. She also has two regular naps that are sometimes compromised on the weekends, but Kayden just rolls with it. She is truly amazing!!
