Since Scotty and I first started dating we made the effort to have date night every Friday night. From early in the relationship and throughout our marriage, we have never let a Friday go by without going to dinner. Even when Kayden was first born we still went out to eat- new babies sleep all the time (except when the sun goes down!). Anyway in the past month or two we have come to accept that date nights are no more. The evenings are hardest for Kayden because she goes to bed so early and consequently she gets tired even earlier! With the grandparents living too far away to help babysit, we are left with modified date night- take out! Hey, as long as I don’t have to make it or clean it up, I’m pretty happy! I saw this shirt at Target and with the mood I have been in, I knew we just had to have it… and wear it the very next day!

Here is Kayden on her own little date night with Eli.

Not too much has happened around the Hatcher home lately. Scotty and I have both gone back to work and it seems that the day is too short to get all of the things done that I would like. Keeping up with the house is such a challenge working all day! This week I have worked Monday and Tuesday so far. Maica, my neighbor and job-share partner, watched the babies on Monday while I taught in our classroom. Since she and I are job-sharing we thought we’d try sharing babies too! She said the day went well, but I’ll find out for sure on Friday when it’s my turn!

Here are some pictures of the babies on New Years day. Check out both of their outfits!

Both of the babies were getting a little whiny, so we let them both enjoy a little naked time… it always works!

Please, no comments on the chubs! 😉

And on Sunday we celebrated the final Charger game of the season… in style of course! Thanks Kim for the jersey.. it fits even though it’s a 2T!!

2010 was the best year on record… Scotty and I welcomed Kayden into our family! New Year’s Eve was the first time in well over a year that I stayed up to mid-night by choice! Scotty and I spent the evening with Eli and family and just had fun celebrating the new year! We are so excited to see what 2011 has in store for us!

Here’s Kayden and Mommy pre-partying with a just-girls photoshoot!

Soon into the evening it was time to eat! We all had a little fun feeding the little ones!

We hope you all had a wonderful 2010 and we wish you an even better 2011! Cheers!!

Today we had one of those days… we didn’t do much, but we got a lot done! We are currently moving homes and while it is a great change for our family, it is met with some difficulties. We are leaving our home that we have lived in for over five years, got married in, had our baby in, and yada yada. It has been a great home… until the baby arrived. It felt like we were on top of each other all day and we literally could not walk in a straight path from the living room to the kitchen… both 10 feet apart from each other! Kayden’s toys (at 6 months) and all of our furniture were causing a lot of cramping. Scotty’s parents own a condo in our same complex that is worthy of an award for most model-like home on the block. This home is so cozy and beachy that we have always said when we grew up we wanted to live in a home like theirs! Well circumstances have made it so that this model home has sat unoccupied for a few years and we have out grown our little nook in the community. After a lot of discussions we decided to move in the the model home and rent our condo. In the mean time we are emptying our condo and trying to only bring in what we need. Although we are still cramped- living with theirs and ours- we are 1,000 times happier in the model home than our little beach bungalow!

Kayden’s newest trick is doing high chair races. Maica mentioned that Eli (Kayden’s boyfriend) loves to do high chair races in the house. I decided to strap Kayden in to her high chair and race her around the downstairs… she loves it! She now is up-close when I make dinner, do the laundry, and when Scotty and I eat dinner. Great trick, thanks Maica!!

Here is Kayden hanging out on the chair stretching for her gymnastics meet. Thanks Kim for the awesome Babby leggs. I might get a lot of grief for the fashion statement, but I don’t care because I LOVE these baby leggings!

After a long day of appointments- SDG&E, Movers, Pedicure, etc.- Kayden and I decided to just hang out and play for a while before it was time to make dinner!

Scotty decided to get in on the mix and help Kayden practice her gymnastic moves!

All-in-all we had a great day and we are so thankful to be able to spend the time off together as a family!!

My pureed food was a total success! Kayden loved her sweet peas, turkey, and apple sauce. For breakfast she had apple sauce mixed in with her oatmeal and she devoured it. For lunch she had turkey and sweet peas with a little carrots on the side. I realized during my pureeing frenzie that I didn’t have enough storage for all of the veggies and fruits I bought, so I am stuck with what we have for a while. The veggies are only good in the fridge for three days! The turkey is only good for 2! So my freezer is full of baby food for the time being. We ordered more baby food containers so when they arrive we will be pureeing bananas and carrots and maybe some squash! Kayden loves mommy’s cooking already!

Kayden was very excited when she saw me warming up her lunch!

Mimi fed her lunch while I did some housework.

She wasn’t too sure about this new food at first…

[sthumbs=2226|2227|2228,160,1,n,center,]

… but after a few bites she sure warmed up to her new, healthier food!
