The Holiday season always seems to come and go in a whirlwind of family time, celebrations, gift giving, gift receiving, and wonderful memories being made. This year was all of that! I, of course, didn’t take enough pictures and haven’t figured out how to steal Scotty’s from the Cloud… yet. So I don’t have a lot of pictures to share, oops! He took mostly videos anyway!

The girls had an amazing Christmas and received many wonderful gifts. Santa was generous and dropped off many fun toys, dolls, and art supplies. Daddy and Mommy hit the jackpot with the bounce house! Not sure the neighbors love the screaming that comes along with it, but it’s squeals of delight, right?! 😉 Mimi and Grampy gave the girls their first beach cruisers and Kayden took to it naturally. She loves to go on afternoon rides while I walk the pugs- they got new leashes and collars! Santa must have known they needed to go on more walks! Kloey still needs to work on her cruising skills, but she is enjoying the learning process! Nam and Papa came through with a beautiful dress up closet. They noticed the abundance of dress up attire and the lack of closet space, so they solved that problem! The girls love the easy access to their dress up clothes. I’m not so sure I enjoy this, as it means more clothes on the floor for me to clean up!! All in all, we had a FANTASTIC Christmas!!

“Dear Santa, You’re special because you bring us toys. I hope you have a Merry Christmas. Love, Kayden”

It’s almost time!! Santa is finishing up his final preparations for the BIG day!! So is Mommy!! 😉 I am finally completely done and ready for the big finale! I spent the day today finishing up the final touches to ensure that my children’s hearts will be full come Christmas morning. Christmas is about so much more than presents, but I think at this age, it’s a big part of the excitement that leads up to the big day. We have tried to make sure that we also stress the importance of giving as being as important as receiving. It’s a message that’s kind of abstract right now, but we figured we start teaching the lesson by having each girl shop for each other. We went around the mall as a family and the girls pointed out things that they wanted. From there each child went off with one parent and chose the perfect gift for her sister. They were both so excited to pick out the perfect gift and, honestly, they did put good thought into it and genuinely got something they think the other would really love. I think they both nailed it!

Today, Kayden worked on her note to Santa and she is getting excited to bake him cookies and leave the note for him tomorrow night. It’s fun to see both of their eyes light up when they talk about Santa coming to visit. So many fun memories are being made and will continue to be made this holiday season! We are very blessed to have all that we have…. most importantly, each other!!

We have been so spoiled to go to Disneyland so many times this year. As pass holders, we have really taken advantage of going to the park throughout the year. But we don’t just go to Disneyland, we stay for several days! We always say we’ll stay one night and spend two full days at the park. Then we realize that we can’t spend two FULL days at the park. It is overwhelming and the kids adults tap out mid-afternoon and need a recharge back at the hotel. So we end up staying a second night and spend only part of the third day at the park- hitting up a few rides one last time or catching one more show. Either way, it’s always a good idea to stay an extra day!

This time we went to Disney with the Petersons. We went up a day early, because as I mentioned, we need three days! Kloey was finally tall enough to ride some of the bigger rides- like Big Thunder Mountain. Yeah, it’s obviously been MANY years since Scotty and I rode the ride, because we let her go on it! That ride was FAST and hit many dips, turns, drops, and everything in between!! She got off the ride and kept saying, “I did NOT like that ride!” Scotty and I apologized profusely and promised we’d not take her back on it. Kayden loved it! Needless to say, we didn’t go on any other “big kid” rides that day! On the last day, however, we went on the Cars ride in California Adventure. The ride is pretty tame until the race at the end, so we went in with our fingers crossed. She LOVED the ride!! On the second night, we stayed in a suite with the Petersons and the kids loved running around and being together for baths, bed, breakfast, and so much in between. We had a great time and look forward to renewing our passes again next year!

I, for some reason, don’t take pictures at Disneyland. Maybe I am too caught up in the moment or just too overwhelmed with chasing kids and large groups of people, but here are two pictures I stole from Scotty’s phone. They obviously don’t capture all that we did, but we look cute! 😉

The holidays are fun for a lot of reasons, but especially because of all of the art projects that come home! Naturally, last week Kayden’s class talked about what the kiddos are thankful for. We talked about it quite a bit at home so that she could have some impressive answers for her teacher. We are thankful for our family, our home, our pets, our health, our toys, all of the fun things we get to do together, etc. I can see how this art project was presented: “Kayden, can you think of four really wonderful things that you are thankful for?”

And here is what Kayden is thankful for:

Now, let’s be honest here, Kayden’s teachers all know she has a sister. She shows up with me every morning and again every afternoon. They obviously let her have full freedom with her answers! A few blogs back I mentioned how much my children love each other. How cute they are. How sweet they can be. Yadda yadda yadda!!  Now, I don’t think she isn’t thankful for her sister, I just think her priorities are maybe a little off. She does really love her sister!! I promise! 😉

We all had a few days off for Thanksgiving and we seemed to pack the days doing family things. We had family dinners, went on long walks to the beach, went to the Wild Animal Park (again!), put up Christmas decorations inside and out, played video games (the girls love to watch (Kayden) and to ‘play’ (Kloey) video games with dad!) and all around just enjoyed the time together. Here are just a few fun pics from the past week!
