The girls came over yesterday for a visit. It’s been so fun to go through our pregnancies together. It’s even better to be the first one done! The girls look great though. I don’t know how Kim does the whole pregnancy thing (third trimester) with a 15 month old to chase after too. Truly a super woman!

Today Scotty and I took Kayden on a four mile walk to the harbor and the board walk. It’s amazing, even though the weather was a little gloomy, there were still an abundance of people setting up camp on the beach in the early morning. We had the dogs en toe and it was a great family adventure. About half way through the walk Kayden was ready to eat and of course needed a diaper change. I was a little aprehensive about bringing my infant out of her stroller, but Scotty was super dad and fed her and then even changed her poopy right there on the beach. He is an amazing dad!!

Kayden and mommy had a long night last night. So in the spirit of not sleeping, I thought I would post some of my favorite shots of her sleeping. Because at 2 am I have to remind myself that she does in fact sleep… just not on my clock!

Unfortunately we didn’t get any full shots of her outfit. Her “Baby’s first Fourth of July” onesie was a 3 month old outfit so it was a little big. That wasn’t the best part though. The outfit was of course red, white, and blue. Well, I didn’t have any pants that matched so Scotty just pulled up her socks (which are also too big) so that they were thigh-highs. It was adorable! I use to wear tall socks back in my bball days. Like mother like daughter!

When a baby is first born they have a stump on their belly button (from the umbilical cord attaching baby to mom) which needs to be protected at all times. This means no bath time fun for the first weeks of life. Once the stump falls off you have free reign to wash baby. Kayden’s belly button stump fell off a while ago, but I wanted Scotty to be home to take pictures of Kayden’s first bath so we waited until the first available weekend- because of course baths can only happen in the morning and since Scotty leaves for work at 5:30 it just wasn’t going to happen during the week! So we figured today was the day to wash our little miss. We took her out for her first walk at the harbor as well, so she had a big day of ‘firsts’ today! She seemed to enjoy the walk more than the bath. 🙂
