Happy birthday to our first fur baby, Jinx!! Today our old girl is 13 years old, but I swear she acts no older than when we first got her as a pup. She still sleeps all day. Refuses to go on walks. Doesn’t chase the ball. Fights Kooper for simply walking past her uneaten bowl of food. Barks at the wind. Scares herself when she farts. Nothing has changed!! I always joke that she was meant to be paired with an old man because she doesn’t like to do much, but she loves attention and affection. She is a great dog and we love her! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JINX!!

A few weeks back Kayden had Spring Break (remember, I am catching up the blog!). We decided to stay local and enjoy some of our favorite hangouts. We went to the Wild Animal Park and the Zoo. We walked a ton and found different areas of each park that we had never seen/experienced before. Both days were a big hit! Sticking with the theme of zoo animals, we also saw the new movie Zootopia. We all thought it was a great movie, inspite of some of the ‘scary’ parts. Why do Disney movies ALWAYS have scary parts of their movies?!? This one happened to have a scene with rabid animals trapped in cages. Yeah, that scared me a little too! We also hung out with friends and just spent time enjoying the many wonders found in our own backyard in Oceanside!

With Kayden at school full time, I have found a real joy in spending my days with Kloey. This girl can talk your ear off, make you laugh, ask you questions, drive you crazy, have tantrums like it’s nobody’s business, and make you feel like the most loved human on this Earth. Kloey is definitely my BFF these days and I wouldn’t change our days for anything. We love to picnic at the park, try all of the “stamples” at Costco, run errands, do “our” workouts, talk about her plethora of stuffed animals and whose birthday it is, do zoo phonics, and do art art and MORE ART!! This child has taught me what it means to love hard and what a melted heart feels like. She has been my biggest challenge and my biggest love bug! I love you to Moon and back dear Kloey!!

We’ve had a few technical difficulties over here, so I am catching up the blog. Easter 2016 was a good one! The girls got spoiled by Santa. Oh wait, he didn’t come on Easter? Then how else do you explain the amount of junk they got??? Surely the Easter Bunny doesn’t bring THAT much stuff, does he? Oh. He. Does. The girls had a weekend of candy, treats, gifts, Easter egg dying, Easter egg hunting, and most importantly, spending time with their family! On Saturday we went to Mimi and Gampy’s house and did all of the above. On Sunday the Hatcher side came over to our house and we did the above and added in some adult-sized Jenga (sorry, not pictured below). That game is one stressful, but fun game. All in all, we had a great Easter weekend!!

So trampolines are dangerous?! No one told me that!! Growing up, sure I went on trampolines at friends houses. I never fell off. I never got hurt. I never attempted stupidly dangerous tricks. Never. Shocked? Me too! So we have had our trampoline for a few years and have not had an incident… Until now!! Last week Scotty and I were in the gazebo watching the girls on the trampoline. Something must have ignited in my dear husband, because he decided he was not only going to go jump with the girls, but show them a new game. Crack the egg (also apparently known as popcorn). The name(s) should pretty much give away the game, but basically there is one jumper with the other kids sitting criss cross apple sauce holding their feet. The jumper tries to jump high enough, hard enough, fast enough to crack the egg (get the other kids to lose grip of their feet). Well not long after explaining the game, did one egg not only crack, but she busted her face. Bloody lip, bloody knee (from a tooth jamming into it), and several loud screams through tears and the game was OVER! One very upset mommy tried, unsuccessfully, to hold it together and tell her beautiful daughter that everything would be okay! Her perfect smile was no more! Because I am the worrier that I am, I took her to the dentist a few days  later. Apparently this is common and everything will in fact be okay! The tooth has since corrected itself almost entirely, and luckily for us all, no one is scared of the trampoline. Sure it’s no broken bone story, but it is our first dramatic injury. Let’s hope it’s the last! 😉
